Our permanent Roof Sealing Tape is a single sided, acrylic based, high performance adhesive tape.  With the ionomer backing on this tape, means that it is very tough, flexible and abrasion resistant and was specifically formulated for difficult sealing applications. With it being neutral translucent and especially designed to seal an existing seam or joint, this means that overlapping tape joints can be made whilst keeping that strong seal.   This product is specially balanced to be effective in all climates and environments and guarantees exceptional adhesion performance including on low surface energy substrates.

This tape is and remains soft and flexible, allowing it to be easy to mold to edges, contours, rivets and screws making it the perfect product for caravan and motorhome leaks, roof and gutter holes/tears and the transportation industry.

Sealing Tape Features:

  • Thickness - 1.1mm
  • Type of tape - sealing
  • Width - 50mm
  • Length - 33 metres
  • Colour - neutral (transparent)
  • Type of adhesive - high strength acrylic
  • Tape material - ionomer film
  • Operation temperature - -40°C - 95°C
  • Tensile strength - 310kPa
  • Resistance to abrasion

How to apply:

This product should be applied under light tension to prevent air bubbles being trapped underneath. Fix the first section of tape into position, then maintaining light tension roll out the tape into the position as desired.  Pressure should be applied in a rolling fashion at approx. 10N/cm2.  Recommended roller speed at 10 mm/s.  Higher velocities might require a higher pressure or control with surface pressure films.   This tape achieves its full strength after 24h at ambient temperature.  high temperatures can accelerate strength development.

Surface Preparation:

To ensure an excellent bond, all bonding processes require proper surface preparation and cleaning.  This allows the tape to have direct contact with the surface creating full adhesion force.   We recommend to use Formoa® surface activator which cleans and etches the surface to promote adhesion and increase durability.  Check that your cleaner is suitable with your surface, and use a lint free tissue for operations.
